What is a Short URL API?

PicSee provides an API that enables seamless integration with websites, AI agents, CDPs, apps, and other systems. This allows programs to automatically create Short Links via PicSee without needing to manually operate through the website.

Enterprise Integration Example

When you place an order in the KFC app, you receive a confirmation email (or SMS) containing a Short Link that lets you view your order status. Have you ever wondered—does KFC have staff manually creating a Short Link for every order? That would be incredibly inefficient.
Of course not. These Short Links are generated via API. Once you complete your order, KFC’s backend system calls the PicSee API to shorten the order tracking URL and then sends the Short Link to you.
As a side note, KFC Taiwan’s kfcclub.tw Short Link domain is also a PicSee branded short domain.

  • Is the API free? PicSee offers a free API tier that allows up to 800 Short Links per year. For higher usage or full feature access, please refer to the overview page and request a quote.
  • Can Short Links created via API be found on the PicSee website? Yes. They can be found under the "API" tab in the link records page, where they can also be manually edited.
  • Can one account have multiple API tokens? No. Each account can only have one API token. If needed, you can register additional accounts. To differentiate usage across teams, you can include the externalId parameter when creating Short Links, which allows you to query by externalId later. This feature is also available in the free tier.
