What is the default destination?

The default destination is a feature provided with "PicSee BSD (Branded Short Domain)" or "the advanced features of a self-owned branded short domain". It redirects visitors to a specific page when they enter your branded short domain directly (without a slug). For example, clicking Shopee's branded short domain https://sho.pe/ takes you to the default destination Shopee has set, https://shopee.tw/.

By setting a default destination, you can customize where your branded short domain redirects, such as your website homepage or your fan page, and strengthen the brand identity of your branded short domain.

If this feature is not set, entering the branded short domain directly redirects to the branded short domain introduction page (click here to view).

How to set it up

  1. Click your account avatar in the top right corner and go to "Settings".
  2. Switch to the "Domains" tab on the left.
  3. In the "Branded short domain" section, find a branded short domain with "Advanced Features" enabled and click it.
  4. Find the "Default URL" setting and click "Start setting".
  5. Enter the destination URL you want visitors to reach when they enter the branded short domain directly, then click "Setup completed".
  6. After setting up, hover over the URL under "Default URL" and a trash can icon appears on the right. You can remove the setting and set a different URL.

Important Notes

  1. Allow 30 minutes to take effect: the redirect system uses caching for efficiency, so it is normal for the setting not to take effect right away. We recommend waiting about 30 minutes before testing.
  2. Unsafe URLs are not supported: for security and browsing experience, this feature does not allow redirecting to unsafe URLs. If a URL cannot be set, use the check tool to find out why it is blocked, and set a different URL instead.
  3. Destination validity is not guaranteed: we recommend checking that the default destination URL works before setting it, so it can be used normally afterwards.
