When using PicSee short links, you can set UTM parameters in the "Tracking Tools" page to help identify traffic sources in tools like Google Analytics. UTM settings feature dropdown menus and memory functions to improve operational efficiency, and can be applied after creating short links.
Setup Instructions
Create Default UTM Options
Before or after creating short links, you can click "Settings" in the top right corner to enter the tracking tools page. Find the Urchin Tracking Module (UTM) section and set default values for utm_source and utm_medium. You can also delete unused memory options on this page in the future. For recommended UTM options, please refer to
this FAQ.
Using Dropdown Menus to Apply UTM Settings
After creating a short link, you can find the "Tracking Tools" option in the edit panel on the left side of the link record to open PicSee's built-in UTM Builder. The utm_source and utm_medium can be selected from dropdown menus, while other fields need to be entered manually. There's a "Remember" checkbox next to each field - check it if you want that option to be automatically applied when creating future short links.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if the original URL already has some UTM parameters?
If the URL already contains some UTM parameters, the system will prioritize the values set in PicSee, overwriting the same field parameters in the original URL (Google Analytics only records the last set of UTM parameters).
Can I use only PicSee's UTM Builder without creating short links?
Since PicSee is a short link tool, the UTM Builder is provided based on short links. Although the "Preview URL" screen shows the effect with UTM added and you can copy it for your own use, if you don't use PicSee's short links for sharing, you won't be able to see other performance data in the PicSee backend. Therefore, to avoid confusion in subsequent operations, this usage is not recommended.
