How to add UTM parameters to a short link?

How to set it up

Set UTM default options

Go to Settings > Tracking Tools to add or delete UTM presets. Find the Urchin Tracking Module (UTM) section and set the default values for utm_source and utm_medium. You can also remove unused presets on this page later. For recommended UTM options, see this FAQ.

Apply saved UTM settings from dropdowns

After creating a short link, open the “Tracking Tools” section in the link editor to access PicSee’s built-in UTM Builder. You can select utm_source and utm_medium from dropdown menus, while other fields require manual input. If you want PicSee to remember your choice for future use, check the “Remember” box; uncheck it if not.

FAQs

What happens if my original URL already has UTM parameters?

If your destination URL already includes UTM parameters, PicSee will overwrite the same fields using your saved settings (for duplicate UTM names, Google Analytics uses the later ones in the URL).

Can I use PicSee’s UTM Builder without creating a short link?

Since PicSee is primarily a short link tool, the UTM Builder works with short links. Although you can copy the preview URL with UTMs applied, you won’t be able to view analytics in PicSee if you don’t use its short link. Therefore, this approach is not recommended to avoid confusion in future tracking.

What if I can’t add new UTM options?

Please refer to Add-on options or go to Settings > Tracking Tools to delete unused UTM presets.
